This golf course is located in a preserved area and hosted the Portuguese Open in 1996 and 1997.

Aroeira is set in a 900 acre pine forest and is renowned as one of the best golf courses in continental Europe.

Designed by the famous golf architect Frank Pennink, it has been in play since 1973.
